How We Work – in Brief

RFSU participates in debates, meets decision-makers and politicians, takes part in national and international conferences, responds to official documents circulated for comment, and designs courses of education and training.

RFSU’s aim is to create a “ripple effect” by identifying a problem, developing methods with which to deal with the problem, and finally implementing the methods in society. This way of working has contributed to a greater openness surrounding sexuality in Sweden, and also e.g. comparatively low levels of unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

RFSU is based in Sweden but we also work internationally, running collaborative programmes with similar organizations in countries in Africa, Asia and Europé.

What we do

  • Advocacy on SRHR on both national and international level.
  • Advanced international training programmes on SRHRA as well as peer-education.
  • Production and spread of information and material on SRHR and sexuality education.
  • Peer-education, sexuality education in schools, seminars etcetera performed locally by volunteers at our local branches.
